Something For Everyone at New Lone Star College - Conroe Center
To ‘ignite’ your career and ‘light up’ your future, look no farther than the new Lone Star
College-Conroe Center, a full-service college campus located close to home in Conroe. Offering academic transfer credit courses
for traditional students and continuing education for others, LSC-Conroe Center is the place to complete your educational
goals.
“Taking a class at LSC-Conroe Center was a great choice for me,” said Conroe-resident
Abby Groggins, a student working toward her associate degree in nursing. “The location was much closer to home, so I
saved lots of money on gas and childcare, as well as precious time with my family.”
LSC-Conroe
Center offers basic academic transfer credit courses for an associate degree - like math, science, and English, as well as
others that easily transfer to four-year universities.
The campus also offers GED certification,
courses for English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), dual credit courses, and workforce certificates and continuing
education classes like phlebotomy and certified nurse’s aide (CNA).
“My instructor
really prepared me for a job, teaching me how to handle the ‘worst-case-scenario’ in my field,” said Willis-resident
Regina Garrison, a former stay-at-home mother who returned to school to earn her CNA certification at LSC-Conroe Center this
spring. “This was the first thing I’ve done to start a career, and I’m so glad I did it.”
LSC-Conroe Center opened doors in January at its new location at 777 Conroe Park North Drive, just east of I-45 off
of FM 3083.
The 83,000-square-foot campus has two buildings. The academic building has ample
classroom and study space, high-tech computer labs, and specialized science labs. The separate advance technology building
has innovative equipment for the automotive technology; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); welding; and machining
programs.
The campus also has a bookstore, library, multipurpose room, and testing center,
along with registration and admission services. Plus, class sizes are smaller, which means plenty of student-instructor interaction.
